Spartacus was a Roman slave in the Gladiator School. He plays a brave and willing gladiator.

 The Roman way of life differs from our life  in many ways. Our democratic government is somewhat the same as the Roman democracy. The difference is that one has a direct democracy and the other had an indirect democracy. Another difference is the way they dressed and the way we do. The way they did things, such as considering a Gladiator fight to the death entertaining, is also a difference.

Spartacus wanted his son to be free more than anything. If he could have that he would have been very glad. Verenia represented her love for Spartacus. In the end they ended up husband and wife and had a son, whom he wished free.

Crassus was afraid of Spartacus. He feared him because there were more slaves then people and he feared that Spartacus would one- day lead the slaves to attack them. 

The slave army did not identify Spartacus after the battle because they did not want him killed, and they wanted him safe since he was a great leader and was admired by many people. Also, because he had done a lot of things to help other people. 

Caesar betrayed Dracus. He betrayed him because Dracus was a great Roman leader and Caesar wanted to be one also.

Julius Caesar was a great Roman leader who betrayed Dracus. People admired him so much, that, he wanted to become dictator for life, but was murdered by people who hated him.

 Batiatus was portrayed as the owner of the Gladiator School. He was against the slaves and was a mean man. Towards the end of the movie he changed because he saw what the slaves were really good for and how they must have felt. He then was nice and appreciated the gladiators.    

From watching the movie I learned that the higher class men had an easier life than a regular Roman life, which was considered hard and not as easy as high class people.

The quote “one person can make a difference” was a good quote for the Spatacus movie. It described Spartacus and his role to other people. Everyone was relying on him and was hoping to be free one day, and believed that Spartacus could do something good for them. He encouraged them and in the end it was a whole lot of people making a difference, and not just one person.

This movie gave me a clearer picture of Roman life. I knew some things about the Roman life, but I found out what really happened. There were many problems during that time and now all these things are improved and changed.

This movie showed me that when we think that life is hard some times we should then think about what people back then had to go through. I think you should be grateful that you have a better life than they did.
