| Overview:
In the Orientation unit you will learn about the transition to
middle school and the sixth grade. You will also explore ways in
which you learn and express yourself best, practice using our online
classroom, and participate in an introduction to The Road to
College.
Objectives:
By the end of the Orientation unit you will:
- understand what is expected of a successful Sixth
Grade student in terms of both academics, behavior, and technology skills
- understand typical child development milestones most 6th
graders (11-12 year olds) experience
- understand and follow middle school and classroom
procedures and rules
- identify your primary learning style(s)
- identify your unique multiple intelligence(s)
- use learning strategies to support your unique learning
style(s)
- have been introduced to and practiced using our
technology tools
- feel comfortable using our class website (MSK) and
virtual Yahoo classroom
