Mrs. Gatling – Sixth Grade

Welcome to Room 008 of the Edmund W. Miles Middle School in Amityville, New York. We are a 6^th grade Honors Class of twenty-one students We have a wonderful teaching assistant, Mrs. Kaiser and this school year has gotten off to a marvelous start.

On our website, MiddleSchoolKidz.com, we intend to introduce you to some of the activities and projects we’ve accomplished this year in English and Social Studies.

All students have individual writing portfolios, which contain various essays, business letters, stories, current events and projects. In addition, to the writing portfolio, the students published a classroom newspaper, entitled, What's Up in Room 008? Articles from past issues are compiled here on the website.

Here in New York State our curriculum must adhere to the NYSED Learning Standards and Assessments.
