First Assembly

In this essay I am going to talk about our first assembly. The principal of our school is Mr. Jackson and he is the one who talked to us in the assembly.  The acting assistant principal of our school is  Mr. Daraio and he is only here for a short time.

The name of our school is Edmund W. Miles Middle School. The principal said the school wide theme for our school this year is to improve our writing skills which we really need to do.

What he talked about during the assembly is every thing we need to know about our school since we are new sixth graders. What I remember him mentioning is the Metropolitan Achievement Tests , which are very important.

He said we should have good classroom behavior or you will have to suffer the consequences.

If you disrespect a teacher or do something against the rules, the principal will call your parents. If you are late to class daily, the principal will punish you. He said that all girls should not be showing their belly button because it is not tolerated.

He said that if you wear tank tops they cannot show your belly button and the sleeves cannot be too thin.

He said you cannot talk to any adult in the school with a disrespectful manner or you will be punished. He said if he sees any fighting he will suspend those people, even the ones who were just watching.

He said if he catches anyone with any kind of weapon he will suspend those people for a long time and he will call their parents.

He said that if you do not pass the Metropolitan Achievement Tests you will have to go remedial reading, if you failed the reading part of the test.

What he said about academic success is to do well in class and to pass sixth grade and to make it a great year for yourself.

What I'm going to do to make this school year a successful one is , I am going to do well in school and respect the teachers and make a lot of friends.
