The second day of school we had an assembly program for all the sixth graders. Mr. Jackson, the principal of the Edmund Miles Middle School talked about the school year and many more things. The school-wide theme is RESPECT. He said we should respect everyone in the school. He said that this year he doesn’t want fights in the hallway, no chasing people and no foul language. Mr. Gonser is our Assistant Principal. He also said he wanted all kids to be safe. Mr. Austin is the Dean of Students. He talked to us about running in the hall and how many days of detention we could get for running or fighting in the hall. A guidance counselor is someone we can talk to. They can guide us through our problems too. The guidance counselors in our school are Ms. Bernstein and Mr. Nelson. My guidance counselor is Mr. Nelson. I am going to make this school year the best ever by not fighting with people, not using foul language and not ever getting detention. I will try not to be late and I will not run in the hall. I will respect everyone and their personal things. That is what happened at our First Assembly. |
