September,2001

The purpose of this assembly was to welcome us and inform us on what we will be doing this school year. The compliment that Mr.Jackson gave us was that we are the most academically educated sixth grade students in this school.

The school-wide theme of this year is RESPECT. The size of our sixth grade class this year is over 200 students. Mr.Jackson said that the sixth grade academic level was very high. He wants us to treat others like we want to be treated.

The Superintendent’s Suspension is that if you bring a weapon to school you will be suspended. You can get the Superintendent’s Suspension if you bring a weapon to school.

Mr. Gonser said the sixth graders are very good in the cafeteria. Mr. Gonser is the assistant principal of the school. Mr. Gonser said the Regents will be hard work but he knows all of us will pass. Regents are the test you must pass in order to graduate from the High School. Mr. Gonser said ,”don’t listen to what someone told you, follow your own instincts.”

I am going to listen and follow the rules of Mr.Jackson, Mr. Gonser, and other staff in the school. It is very important to have these rules because if we don’t have these rules people will be out of control
