First Assembly

September,2001

The purpose of the assembly was to welcome and inform us on what we are and will be doing in school. The compliment that Mr. Jackson gave us was we are the most academically educated sixth grade students in this school for a long time. The school theme for this year is Respect. He meant respecting our fellow peers and adults and also thinking about the choices you make affecting the rest of your life.

The Superintendent’s Suspension is when the police have to come. You get a Superintendent’s Suspension when you bring a weapon to school.

Mr. Gonser is the assistant principal. Mr. Gonser said that we won’t be able to play sports but we’ll be able to be in extra curricular activities.  Mr Gonser also said that the regents are five big tests we will have to take if we want to make it to 9th grade.

I will follow the rules and be good. It is important because if you don’t have good rules nobody will follow them and everybody will be bad.
