On April 30, 2001, the sixth grade of the Edmund W. Miles Middle School in Amityville, New York visited the Bronx Zoo.

This trip was a culmination of the Science and Social Studies Projects completed by our students throughout the year. Seeing some of the animals they had researched as part of their Endangered Species Project made their Science Project come alive for them.

The WTC, or Wildlife Conservation Society, which runs the zoo also impressed the students with their efforts of preserving and increasing species.
