Ancient Life Project

 

You are to work on a project illustrating Ancient Egypt or Mesopotamia. This project can be done as a diorama or as a Microsoft PowerPoint Presentation. There are many aspects of the ancient civilizations of Mesopotamia and Egypt.  

Using the packets of information you have received and the CD-ROM resources in our classroom, you are to construct an interesting, creative project. You may also use the computers in the lab or classroom. 

You must work on your own to complete this project. 

Directions: Choose one of the topics below as your project. 

Topics: 

  • The Fertile Crescent 

  • The Rosetta Stone 

  • Hammurabi’s Laws 

  • A Pharaoh’s Tomb 

  • The Great Pyramid 

  • The Gods of Egypt 

  • Hieroglyphic Mysteries 

  • Mysterious Mummies 

  • Egyptian Home Life 

  • The Golden Goblet 

Materials:  If you’re making a diorama you will need: 

  • A shoebox or cardboard box 

  • Crayons or markers 

  • Construction paper, glue 

  • Clay, sand, wood, plants 

  • Toy figures, colorful pictures you have drawn 

  • Your imagination! 

All projects are due on December 14, 2001. The project is worth a test grade. All projects must be taped using the PC camera. All diorama projects must have a neatly typed statement describing the scene in your box. All diorama projects must also be photographed with the classroom digital camera. 

The technology and writing skills utilized in this project are also  in synch with the NYSED ELA and Social Studies Standards.
